About StillWild

StillWild Coffee Co. was born in the heart of historic downtown Summerville, South Carolina. Summerville is known as the Flowertown in the Pines, and is a place filled with natural beauty, warm community, and storied history. We have the honor of having our cafe located on Main Street (also known as "Little Main") right across from Hutchinson Square, in what was once Paul Alexander's tailor shop. Mr. Alexander was a key part of Summerville's history and you can find more of his story beautifully told at the Summerville Museum. If you look closely as you approach the entrance to our Main Street cafe, you'll see Mr. Alexander's name twice. There's one that most people see quickly, but the other one a lot of people miss. Can you find them both?

Why StillWild?

The name carries a lot of meaning for us. Perhaps one of our favorite parts though is as we have talked about the name in conversations with customers, employees, and friends, we have found that it actually carries different meanings for different people and different times. The origin story for us though is that this coffee journey started during a sabbatical season. After what had been an exceptionally busy year filled with changes in all areas of our lives, we decided to commit to 3 months of being intentional about rest, and not busying ourselves unnecessarily. We were not only recharged, but we connected more with each other, with our kids, and with friends. We found fresh vision for our future and a realignment of our priorities.

In Psalm 23 we find one of the most beautiful descriptions of rest. It's not just about rest for its physical benefits, or rest in and of ourselves. It's about a rest that is born in trust and relationship with the Lord. It's about connection, and restoration, and safety. Rest from anxiety, rest from the battles of life - in the very midst of those battles! I have personally experienced this in my own life and we hope and pray that with our little coffee shop we can provide an atmosphere where you can experience the same.

StillWild Coffee

We roast our beans right here in Summerville, South Carolina. That matters to us. Roasting in-house lets us stay close to the process — close to the flavor — and close to the people we’re serving. And the product we serve is always fresh!

StillWild is built on two ideals that may seem opposite at first: rest and adventure. The stillness is in the care — slowing down enough to roast properly, taste intentionally, and let the natural character of the bean come through. The adventure is in the flavor — discovering the depth, brightness, and subtle notes that are already there instead of covering them up.

We don’t believe in masking coffee with heavy syrups and artificial flavors. The foundation has to be good first. That’s why we focus on balance in every roast, bringing out what’s naturally present rather than overpowering it.

With such a great foundation of flavor, we then craft all of our standard syrups in-house to complement the coffee — not dominate it. While some seasonal and sugar free options may be purchased from outside vendors, we look for partners who share our values and avoid artificial ingredients. If it’s in your cup, it’s there on purpose.

StillWild Food

Great coffee deserves food that stands alongside it, not behind it. That’s why we’ve built our menu around freshness, partnership, and intention.

We are continuing to expand what we can make from scratch, plus we work with local bakeries to bring in baked goods made right here in our community.

We take this approach because the experience matters. Fresh ingredients, simple preparation, and real craftsmanship create something that feels honest and welcoming. We are serving food that reflects the same care and intention we put into our coffee to create a great pairing - much like the pairing of rest and adventure.

StillWild Culture

StillWild is about creating connection.

Our space was designed to be warm, welcoming, and easygoing. Designed for real conversations, shared tables, and moments that don’t feel rushed. Friends meet here. Families settle in. New connections happen naturally.

We value genuine human interaction. Hospitality matters. Community matters. We are working hard to make sure the atmosphere reflects that — steady, inviting, and alive in its own quiet way.

It’s not just about the products we serve. It’s about how it feels to be here. Join us!
